USING SOCIAL MEDIA FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Mark Zwinderman, Commercial Director of Surface Active solutions will discuss the fundamentals of using social media to develop your business. Mark will focus on how to identify your market, engage with your audience and how best to grow your social media community. He will also discuss the range of social media platforms available and how best to utilise them.
Mark Zwinderman is the Commercial Director of Surface Active Solutions as well as being a Managing Director of Aboleo Ltd. Mark founded his first company in 2000 as a spin-out from Edinburgh Napier University. Since then he has become a serial entrepreneur bringing to market to market micro-emulsion technologies for the oil & gas and healthcare industries. Mark has raised over £800K worth of funding from grants and debt funding. And has achieved over £3.5 million worth of sales revenue over the past 7 years.

Gordon Short from Edinburgh Technology Services will guide you through the important process of building and managing a team.
Gordon Short is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and entrepreneur with over 25 years commercial experience in the energy sector. He is experienced in tech start-ups having set up, grown and sold his own monitoring and diagnostics company, as well as with multinationals having held positions with the likes of Bechtel and Weatherford International. He is a board member of a number of technology companies and is highly sought after as an advisor to the electricity and oil & gas industries as well as public bodies such as Scottish Enterprise.
