Using the Wellcomm Toolkit

Come and Join the Speech and Language Training team to learn about how to assess children and use the Wellcomm toolkit to support speech and language development in the early years. You will learn:

· Enhance the communication skills of all children

· Target children who have language and communication difficulties as a key area of need

· Increase the number of children whose speech and language are appropriate for their developmental level

This training session is appropriate for all staff working within early years settings including nurseries, pre-schools and PVIs.

This training session will be face to face through a mix of written slides, video clips and spoken information. This training is delivered as part of a small, hands- on, group workshop (there will be no more than 20 attendees and only 1 person from each school may attend this training session due to limited numbers).. A link to where you can download handouts relevant to the session will be sent out via Eventbrite to those who have booked places, at least a few days before the session start date.

Please note:

• Places are limited and there will be a maximum of 20 attendees for this small group workshop.
• Only 2 member of teaching staff per setting is able to assess this training (but please do contact the team directly if further places are required as we may be able to accommodate you – hct.slttraining@nhs.net)
• Please get in touch prior to the sessions if you have any special requirements to enable you to access the session.
• Booking will close 2 weeks prior to the date of the training.
