Join us in conversation and planning around how we can advance social rights across the North East. Have your say!

About this Event

Talk.Act.Change.

Access to housing, education, social security, health and food are globally recognised as human rights. Human rights belong to everyone. But, in the UK, poverty and destitution are on the rise, wages do not improve and housing situations get worse. The North East is often hit the hardest by damaging government policies and growing levels of inequality.

International human rights law gives us useful and unique tools to work on issues from benefits to poverty, child rights to non-discrimination, mental health to workers’ rights.

Working alongside Workie Ticket Theatre, we will use Forum Theatre to draw out issues and ideas for change.

The event will focus on:

LISTENING to the experiences of women in South Tyneside and the North East, exploring the issues around social rights in the region.

CREATING ideas and plans for how to move forward and instigate the change we want to see together.

NETWORKING to make new connections and gain inspiration from fantastic work happening across the region.

Refreshments will be provided.

This particular event is for women only in order to create a safe space for those attending to get involved.
