Utelier: ‘How Technology Powers Fashion Manufacturing’
Wed 22 March 2017, 13:30 – 14:30 GMT
About the Talk:
Utelier representatives will discuss how technology powers fashion manufacturing, including new developments within the fashion industry they would want fashion students to know about.
Utelier’s goal is to bring greater transparency to the fashion industry, making it easier for newcomers to learn how it works, find factories to create products, and work with them most effectively.
The first part of our plan is the launch of our software, SPEC
We built SPEC as a result of frustration at the lack of a universally accepted digital standard that would allow designers to tell factories exactly what they want made.
From our experience, we know factories want to receive all product details in one neat form, whether from a new brand or a large fashion house.
Our commitment to the education of the next wave on industry newcomers also means that we'd love to support the University of West London and its students not only through the use of our software, but also by speaking to them and sharing our industry knowledge and experience.
Don’t forget to visit the Utelier stand and other industry contacts at the Creative Industries Fair on 22 March in Weston Hall, from 12.30pm – 3.00pm.
