Utilising Attachment theory in practice with clients across the life-span. Clients/people may present with problems in which broken attachment is one of the significant contributing factors, whether professionally or personally.
Training.
SRF is running a training course on attachment and its impact on the emotional life of individuals throughout their life stages. This training is for those who work in Social Care, Education, Health and the Justice system.
This training course offers an exceptional opportunity for the deepening of knowledge and experience in the area of secure, insecure and disorganised attachments. And how these impact on practice.
Facilitators. Dr Elaine Arnold MPhil (Social Studies) PhD; Clinical Social Worker with 30 years of experience of lecturing and working with children and adults who have experienced broken attachments, separation and loss. Lecturing on MSW, and Intercultural Counselling Courses. Training at Nafsiyat (Intercultural Training Centre) and the Bowlby Centre.
Ejay Deroy MSC Psychologist has over 9 years experience in addiction, criminal justice and psychological interventions.
Session 1:
What is attachment, Definitions, Classifications? The purpose of attachment and its importance in the lives of children/individuals.
Attachment Disorders.
Session 2:
The impact of separation, and loss, grief, mourning and their emotional impact.
The relevance of broken attachments to delinquencies especially by young people in society.
Case studies, Exercises
Session 3:
Attachment in Adult Life. Practical interventions.
You will walk away knowing this was a most valuable, insightful and rewarding training event on attachment. It will equip, and inspire you in the principles of attachment theory and their application in your practice.
