UUK / Guild HE Copyright Summer Event
Tue 20 June 2017, 10:00 – 16:15 BST
The Universities UK and GuildHE Copyright Working Group are hosting a one day workshop aimed at university copyright officers or specialists. The event is being sponsored by the CILIP Information Literacy Group.
The day will consider the relationship between licences offered to the HE sector and copyright exceptions. Chaired by Professor Ronan Deazley, from the School of Law at Queens University Belfast, it promises to be an engaging and exciting event. The morning will be devoted to group work, where delegates will consider a range of scenarios in the HE sector where both licences or exceptions might apply. Delegates should come prepared for lively discussions and activities to explore how they might tackle the scenarios in question.
In the afternoon we will be joined by representatives from various copyright Collective Management Organisations, including the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) and the Educational Recording Agency (ERA) as well as senior officials from Jisc Collections and the Intellectual Property Office. They will deliver lightning talks to update the HE community of their services and participate in World Cafe style discussions.
Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. Please note that priority will be given to one person per institution to allow as many universities as possible to participate.
Registration will open from 10am, with the event starting at 10.30am and concluding at 4.15pm. Lunch and refreshments will be served.
The event costs £45 which covers all day participation, lunch and refreshments. A full timetable will be sent to delegates ahead of the day. If you have any questions about the day please contact Cat Turhan: email@example.com
