UV LIGHT MAKE UP 3 MODEL PHOTOGRAPHY PORTFOLIO BUILDER WORKSHOP

Do you want to use specialist UV lighting?

Do you want to work with 3 models? a make up artist with UV make up? get tution, feedback from 2 professional Photographers and qualified experienced educators?

Want to photograph models in a professionally equipped studio?

If you've been on a portfolio builder with us before we have 3 different models for this UV portfolio builder so you get to photograph new faces and make up and not the same models over again.

Welcome to another portfolio builder day as the other ones people had such a great experience and they booked up so we thought we give more people the chance to get some stunning images to build their portfolio.

The price of the ticket includes a buffet afternoon tea with sandwiches, cakes and drinks throughout the day.

In this exciting UV light photography portfolio builder you will get the chance to shoot three models through out the day, once they have been made up by a professional make up artist.

We'll start with a technique briefing outlining camera settings and best exposure modes to use. Then we'll move on to practicing slow sync/rear curtain flash with different UV light sources.

Saturday 29th June 1.30pm - 6.30pm thats 6 hours in the studios for just £50 per person.

Studio

Another 3 models will be in the studio and you will have chance to work with the make up artists to get the right UV makeup and costumes.

Who Runs this course?

This course is hosted by Community Photographic studio and Run by Jamie House BA (Hons) PGCE and Hannah Cochrane BA (Hons) a experienced commercial photographer who works with award winning businesses in the south west.Jamie a Multi Award Winning photographer and artist for over 21 years his work has been seen in The New Scientist, The Telegraph, and delivered talks across Europe in places such as the Photographers Gallery London.

Jamie has exhibited his Photography internationally at The Royal Academy of Arts, Aperture Foundation Gallery New York, La Galleria Pall Mall London, Dali Gallery Southbank London and many others.

Jamie is an experienced and qualified educator PGCE that has enabled hundreds of ambitious people to express themselves through photography .He has lectured photography and art at extended diploma, foundation and degree level.

Group size

4-8 we never go over 8 and you will always be taught by two photographers so there will be plenty of time for one to one tution and advice as well as lots of time to shoot models on your own.

On this course you will learn and/or have an introduction to:

Use specialist UV light techniques in the studio.



• Use long exposures and slow sync flash techniques to create atmospheric shots using a handheld exposure meter to measure ambient a flash lighting

• Get hands on experience of setting up and shooting in different low key location lighting scenarios in the studio and using special UV portable lights to balance ambient light

• Develop practical understanding of typical lighting set ups, from one light to three light scenarios, including the concepts of “key” light, fill, rim and background lighting.You will also explore using a light meter and lighting ratios to balance your lights accurately and professionally.

• Work with 2 professional Models and explore different ways of posing and positioning the subject, including head shots and full length shots, and the principles of: Profile, Three quarter, Direct and Seven eighths head positions.You also get to work with a make up artist.
• Have an opportunity to explore how to shoot successful portraits using available light from fire, including such considerations as depth of field, lens choice and posing outside of a studio environment using props.
• An understanding of how different focal lengths can totally alter the nature, expression and, ultimately, even the intention behind a photographic portrait.
• You will leave the course with knowledge how to use long exposures and UV lighting using
slow sync/rear curtain flash to illuminate and freeze the motion of the models face

Jamie will share lots of golden nuggets from his 21 years experience with Photography on the day.


What to expect on the day?

Expert Professional photographic tuition, photographic assistant on hand to help you, a stylist and make up artist on hand to give you a real insight to what it feels like to be on a set of a professional photo shoot.

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who is looking for new directions for their photography and try something new, would like to enhance their technical and creative skills, or maybe thinking of purchasing own location lighting kit and would like to have an introduction to location lighting and metering. Also great chance to build your portfolio, work with professional models, stylists and learn how to balance ambient light with flash.

Prior experience:

It is assumed that those attending will have a basic knowledge of photography and have an understanding of aperture, shutter speeds and exposure, but if your a bit rusty we can help you with this too.

Suggested equipment

-Your own DSLR camera.
We have limited availability of 50mm f1.8 and 105mm lenses for Nikon and Canon and offer free hire please let us know before the workshop if you need a lens.
