Talks

Tiago Marques – Lloyds Banking Group - Humanising the Banks

Tiago will talk about the past, present and future of what is arguably Britain’s least loved service. He’ll cover a bit of recent history leading to the financial crisis 10 years ago, how the banking industry has changed in the recent years, and how UX can help define the bank of the future. We’ll be discussing:

  • How banks went from pillars of the community to turning the world upside down with the financial crisis of 2007-08.

  • How the market has responded to the crisis, with the rise of mobile banking, more engaged regulation and many fintech challengers.

  • How trust is still paramount to financial services, and Accessibility, Education, Inclusion, Open Banking and User Experience can help create a more humane bank.

Tiago is a Senior UX Designer with 10+ years of international experience, working with brands such as Barclays, WorldPay, American Express and Lloyds Bank.

Max Rothery – Kleinwort Hambros – Building Trust in the digital age.

Private banking brands are built on trust. Reimagining trust for a digital age is key to strengthening relationships in an ever changing environment. The rise of Fintech provides an opportunity to deliver an enhanced client service to a traditional model. The challenge is to remain personal in all interactions.

Max Rothery is responsible for strategy across both technology and digital marketing and is currently robo advice and digital marketing lead for Kleinwort Hambros. He is experienced in driving growth strategies across the business. Max’s experience spans private banking and wealth management branding & client acquisition. With a background in the creative industries he is pushing towards a technology driven, open and innovative future for private banking clients.

Amir Dotan - Capco – Designing Experiences in Investment Banking

Working on complex projects in large global investment banks presents UX professionals with diverse opportunities, challenges and constraints. From risk-averse culture, waterfall delivery model to very limited to no access to end users, User Experience design needs to adapt quickly to have the maximum positive impact to ensure mission-critical data-rich applications are designed well and are delivered in a timely manner and on budget.

Amir from Capco will share his experiences working with Investment Banks for nearly 8 years and describe how he fosters creativity and user experience design with clients through storyboarding workshops, sketches and MVP-mindset.
