Beginning as the #YorkTU in 2012, the UYSEG Science TeachMeet is now an annual summer event, supported by the Association for Science Education.
As with other TeachMeets, this is an opportunity for practitioners to share their ideas. Anyone attending can make a short (5 to 10 minute maximum) presentation. This is informal and the subject matter can literally be anything you find interesting or pertinent and would like to share and discuss. If you would like to attend and just listen to speakers and meet other participants then that’s fine too.
The event will be a fun and relaxed occasion where people can chat, share ideas and good practice with those curious about teaching and learning science. Anyone can share ideas they've trialled, a resource they love, a useful website or activity - whatever you like! You can ask questions or simply turn up to soak up all the great ideas and enthusiasm.
Tea and coffee provided **Bring and share lunch**
For details about getting to the University go to http://www.york.ac.uk/about/maps/. The bus service from the station is excellent - no need for a taxi.
If possible come by public transport or bike - parking is difficult.
If driving, park in the North Car Park, near the NSLC, and walk through to the Science Education Group which is located in Alcuin Block D, marked as A9 on this map
There are lots of great places to stay in York, or you can book accommodation on the University campus.
Sign up by booking a ticket. If you would like to speak, choose the speaker ticket (you don't need to decide yet what you want to speak about - and you can always change your mind!).
