Due to unforeseen circumstance out of our control, this event has been rescheduled to Monday 3rd October 2016.
The Community Perspectives on Loneliness for over 50’s in Tower Hamlet is a project funded by TH Public Health. The project started in October2015 with the aim of seeking the views of local communities in Tower Hamlet on loneliness.
This project has involved 20 local volunteers being trained in community research to engage with and listen to local people in order to better understand people’s experiences of being lonely and indeed of not being lonely. In addition we have been able to explore the impacts of loneliness on Tower Hamlets residents.
We are coming to an end of the project and the volunteer researchers have engaged with around 600 people from the diverse communities of Tower Hamlets.
We would very much like you to come along to share the findings so far, share any further thoughts on loneliness, and help to generate ideas on how services, organisations and individuals can work together to tackle this growing public health issue and make a difference to people’s lives.
We will also be celebrating the achievement of the volunteer researchers in completing this important project and honing their newly acquired skills in community participatory appraisal methods. We are confident that these skills will empower local people in the future, and will help to promote positive, community-led and well informed change.
Refreshments will be served and all are welcome!
We look forward to your presence at this celebration
