Description

Back by popular demand, and in a new location.

A certified course from the Veteran Tree Network. This course will look at some of the veteran trees in the beautiful countryside around High Wray.

When you have completed this course you should be able to do the following:

  1. Give a definition of a veteran tree that is of importance for biological or heritage value.
  2. Explain why trees can live so long
  3. Describe how and where roots grow and why they are important
  4. Undertake a simple survey of a veteran tree in the field
  5. Assess where management is likely to be appropriate for old trees or their surroundings

The course will be a mixture of indoors and outdoors so please bring wet weather gear and warm clothes.

Tea and coffee will be available, but please bring your own lunch.

For more information about the course, please contact Richard Tanner on 07917 050680 or email richard.tanner@nationaltrust.org.uk

Fee: CMA and NT - free; Non-CMA members - £40
