Come join us at the Burnaby Public Library, Bob Prittie Metrotown Branch for an afternoon of meeting new people and making new connections! Whether you're looking for romantic relationships, queer platonic relationships (QPRs), other committed relationships, new friends, or any combination of relationships, this event is for you.


We will be in the Program Room. If you are unsure where to go, you can ask the Service Desk inside the library.


To make this event more accessible, we request that attendees wear masks and refrain from wearing scented products.


Please remember that this event has limited capacity in order to comply with BPL's fire code. If you get a ticket and realize you can no longer make the event, please cancel your ticket through Eventbrite so that others may join. If the event is at capacity, you can still join a wait list! You will be sent a ticket once a space becomes available.


Admission to this event is free! Vancouver Aces and Aros is always grateful for donations that support us with operating costs, like venue rental fees and food costs. In compliance with BPL's policy around money changing hands for any events they host, we will not be accepting donations for this event, but you are most welcome to support us any other time.

Who is this event for?

This event is for anyone on the ace/aro spectrum who is looking to form new connections. This event is open to and inclusive of all genders.

How much does this event cost?

The event is free! Vancouver Aces and Aros collects donations at any time to cover our operating costs for things like venue rental or food costs. In compliance with BPL's policy around not hosting events with monetary cost, we will not be accepting donations during the event.

What if I'm looking for a romantic partner and I'm only attracted to one gender?

To be respectful of and inclusive towards everyone's gender identity, speed-dating/speed-friending will not be organized by orientation with respect to gender. If you attend this event, please know that you will be given opportunities to match with people of all genders.

Do I have to wear a mask?

To make sure this event is as accessible as possible, masks are requested. If you can, please bring your own mask. We will also have masks at the event if you do not have your own. That being said, this event is also inclusive of those who are not able to wear a mask for accessibility reasons.

Will there be food/alcohol at this event?

We will provide some snacks, but we recommend eating your main meal beforehand. Alcohol is not permitted on the premise.

Is there an age limit at this event?

Attendees must be 18+ to attend this event. Please bring valid photo ID to the event. We recognize that ID documents may not always reflect your lived name or gender. We are only using ID to verify age. You will be able to create name tags at the event with your lived name and pronouns.

Is there parking at this event?

There is free 3-hour parking at the venue. The entrance to the underground lot is on Kingsborough Street. The venue can also be reached via the Expo Line; the library is located between the Patterson and Metrotown stations.

Is this event accessible?

The venue is wheelchair accessible and there are all-gender bathrooms. This is also a scent-free event, and masks are requested. If you have additional access needs or questions, please let us know in the registration form, which is included in the event overview above.
