Join us in welcoming Carwyn Jones and Adéọlá Dewis, as they discuss ITV Wales' popular television show 'Vanished Wales', and celebrate the publication of the book based on the series.In this talk, Carwyn and Adéọlá will be discussing the fascinating stories of our lost Welsh landmarks, from vanished communities, hives of industry, cultural venues, wartime placements, Victorian superstructures and even entire villages; once prominent places that have been wiped off the map in living memory – including, amongst others, the Wales Empire Pool and the Capitol Theatre.
Carwyn Jones is a Series Producer, Director and Journalist at ITV Wales with 25 years of broadcast experience across television, radio and online at ITV and BBC. His ‘Wonders of the Border’ and ‘Dock of the Bay’ series were both Bafta nominated, and ‘Vanished Wales’ was RTS nominated. Now based in Cardiff, he studied at University of South Wales and gained a Masters at Aberystwyth University.Adéọlá Dewis is an artist and researcher from Trinidad, based in Wales since 2003. She is the presenter of ITV Wales' 'Vanished Wales' and, in the most recent series, continues her journey across the country, revealing the fascinating stories behind 18 significant sites of history and heritage that have disappeared from Welsh cities, towns and villages within living memory.Refreshments will be provided!
