We are pleased to announce an event for the V&A/RCA History of Design MA, for both offer holders and prospective applicants on Monday 7 February at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Guests should arrive at 2pm ready for a 2.30pm start. Latecomers should call 020 7942 2574.
Programme tutors from the RCA and V&A will offer open day attendees a choice of different gallery tours, including the opportunity to visit a show that is currently being installed. There will also be a chance to talk to staff and students from the programme, and to learn more about our teaching, professional development opportunities, student and staff research.
Schedule:
2pm Arrival and security check in at Secretariat gate (to the far right of the Cromwell Road entrance).
2.30pm Welcome, and presentation by the programme team and a current student, including Q&A (Hochhauser auditorium)
3.30pm Short break
3.45pm - 4.45pm Gallery tour with members of the programme team.
The afternoon will finish at approximately 4.45pm-5pm.
Please note that due to security procedures at the V&A, pre-registration by midnight on Thursday 3 February is essential.
Due to restrictions on numbers, guests are not permitted. If you require someone to be with you for caring/access reasons, please let us know and we will make arrangements.
Please note the museum is not open to the public on Mondays; this means exhibitions and galleries will not be open for visiting outside of this event, and no refreshments can be provided. The Cafe will not be open but please feel free to bring your own water.
Covid precautions: please wear a mask at all times while inside the museum, and observe social distancing and hand sanitising guidelines.

The V&A/RCA MA History of Design draws on the exceptional resources and national and international networks of two world-leading centres of excellence for scholarship and creativity, the RCA and the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). With a base at the RCA and dedicated programme rooms and library at the V&A, since its foundation in 1983 this pioneering programme has earned a world-wide reputation as the leading MA programme in the field. Our research-led teaching and experiential methods inspire and train future leaders in the field. Alumni of the programme are today working successfully in a range of positions across universities, museums, cultural organisations, design firms and media outlets, as well as in independent practice.
