Attend this 2 day course to get in-depth, hands-on experience and insight into how to implement and set up Varnish for optimal performance, flexibility and scalability.
Basic command line knowledge on UNIX-like systems.
Knowledge about HTTP cache headers.
Typical attendees are Systems Administrators, DevOps or people with technical knowledge as outlined above.
On completion of this course, attendees will be able to:
Successfully install and understand the Varnish architecture and concept.
Configure Varnish to support SSL/TLS
Demonstrate the use of Varnish built-in management administration console via command line
Use the Varnish Administration Console (VAC) for single point of administration of multiple Varnish instances
Master the use of Varnish Configuration Language (VCL)
Benefit from Cache invalidation, Load balancing & Content replication with Varnish High Availability (VHA)
Understand lifetime of cached objects: TTL, grace, and keep. Monitoring Varnish, Tuning Varnish
Demonstrate knowledge of enhanced cache invalidation (also known as x-keys)
Course structure and exercises:
This is an instructor led course for groups of up to ten attendees. The course is 60% theory and 40% labs and is held in classroom. This session comes with a certification opportunity included in the delivery, at the end of the second day. The course is held in English and all supporting materials are also in English.
After the training course attendees will be given the opportunity to sit a certification exam to obtain the official Varnish Administrator level certification.
