VAT and Importing: The Basics

This course is one of Centurion’s Basic VAT series which looks at VAT as it relates to importations of goods from outside the EU.
- Payment of import VAT including
o deferment of VAT
o Simplified Import VAT Accounting (‘SIVA’)
- Input tax deduction
o Specific goods excluded from the charge to import VAT
o Importations under Customs suspensive arrangements
o Importing computer software
o Brief introduction to customs duty, commodity codes and the trade tariff
For individuals, new to dealing with import VAT or those looking for a refresher. This will include staff responsible for VAT or involved in compilation of the VAT return, accounts payable staff and those in an organisation’s import department.
To provide an introduction to, the import VAT rules relating to goods arriving from countries outside the EU.
The round table discussion format encourages participants to share common practical concerns and experiences.

This course is £90+ VAT per delegate.
A Certificate of Attendance is available for training records/CPD purposes.

All cancellations must be made no later than 25 working days before the start of the relevant Training Course. If a delegate fails to attend a training course, then full payment will be required.
Alternatively, a substitute delegate can be named before the course and no charge will be made for making a substitute.
We reserve the right to cancel a Training Course at any time. In such circumstances we will either offer alternative dates or a full refund.
