Event Information
Description
The three boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster and partners would like you to join us as we mark the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and 16 Days of Activism 2018.
On Tuesday 4th December, we are holding our Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) Partnership conference ‘Perpetrators: Prevention, Protection & Prosecution: Best Practice in Violence Against Women and Girls Support and Interventions.’
The conference aims to:
-
Increase awareness of the cultural contexts in which perpetrators abuse.
-
Support professionals in identifying the abuser and understand how they perpetrate in relation to all strands of VAWG.
-
Dispel myths and stereotypes around perpetrators.
-
Raise awareness of specialist services and the support available.
The conference will consist of key note speakers, workshops, interactive learning sessions, and guest speakers from local specialist services.
The following workshops will be run on the day (each workshop will be run twice, giving you the option of attending two):
- What does learning from Domestic Homicide Reviews tell us about perpetrators?
- Understanding Child to Parent Abuse
- Perpetrators of Female Genital Mutilation
- Understanding perpetrators of sexual violence
