Join us for an informal chat over coffee and cake where we will be welcoming Carmen Alfonso Rico from Felix Capital.
Felix Capital is a new London-based venture capital firm operating at the intersection of technology and creativity. The fund was raised in a few months and closed at the hard cap at $120m, with commitments in excess of this amount. Felix's strategy is to invest in digital lifestyle, backing new digital brands and related enabling technologies.
Carmen is an Associate at Felix Capital. Prior to joining Felix Capital, Carmen worked for three years as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley, where she advised the leading European financial institutions and corporates on their capital raising strategies. Carmen moved to London in 2013, after having co-founded a citizen journalism start-up in Spain. She started her career in politics, as the youngest advisor to the President of a Region in Spain.
Over the past years, Carmen has remained active in the entrepreneurship ecosystem. As a member of the US Embassy Youth Council, she advised the US Ambassador in Madrid on entrepreneurship and led several programs to foster start-up culture in Spanish schools. She was also a co-founder of TEDxMorganStanleyLondon, the first TEDx Conference sponsored by an Investment Bank.
Recently, she has been selected as a member of Founders of the Future, born out of Founders Forum. Carmen holds a M.A. in Business Administration and Management (Summa Cum Laude) and a Law Degree (Summa Cum Laude) from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE, Madrid) and is fluent in English, German and Spanish.
