About this event

Community • County

Join us for the next VCSE Leadership Network event focused on collaboration, relationships and sharing learning and approaches from across Norfolk.

  • Learn about how West Norfolk is becoming a Marmot Place with organisations working together to support the adoption of eight evidence-based principles to reduce health inequalities.
  • Listen to how recent research in West and North Norfolk, undertaken by Community Action Norfolk (CAN) in partnership with colleagues within our Integrated Care System (ICS), has had a significant impact.
  • Share your own insights and learn from peers on topics such as Asset Based Community Development, Sustainability, Young People, Inclusion and Diversity and more.

The event will begin with reflections from Community Action Norfolk (CAN), alongside colleagues from Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System (ICS) and the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk (BCKLWN), in recognition of the Marmot Place Programme in West Norfolk and recent consultations across Norfolk by CAN and others.

Table discussions will then enable attendees to share their own approaches, learning and experiences with peers on topics such as:

  • Involving and developing opportunities for young people,
  • Understanding the importance of community assets,
  • Connecting with faith and/or business communities,
  • Misconceptions and opportunities around going green,
  • Approaching rural affordable housing,
  • Promoting inclusion and diversity in your organisation,
  • Strengthening and diversifying your board,
  • Understanding neighbourhood approaches within a changing health landscape.

After this, from 3.30pm, refreshments will be available and attendees will have the opportunity to network with colleagues until 4.30pm.

Between 3.45pm and 4.15pm there will be an opportunity to learn about the cancer support available in Norfolk through an informal interactive workshop run by CAN’s Talking About Cancer Together Project Officer. You will be able to join this at any point.
