VeloNotte Berlin: Missing Landmarks
with Sergey Nikitin
24 June 2017
THE GRANDEST TOUR ON EARTH
TO EXPLORE BERLIN’S INVISIBLE HIGHLIGHTS
Accompanied by historical explanations & a thematic soundtrack
From dreams to drinks, from glamour to garage – this is how we are going explore Berlin. Welcome to an architectural & musical tour of Europe’s liveliest city in its evolution - by bike, by night, by VeloNotte, a ride to re-link visions of the small town Berlin in times of the Grosser Kurfürst with places where immigrants enjoyed a monopoly in brewing coffee and distilling brandy, Berlin as an expressionist tale in the 1920’s, or a just the place to reinvent themselves – like it was for Vladimir Nabokov, David Bowie or Chen Kuen Lee.
Featuring leading international experts on Berlin legacy:
Prof. Tim Blanning (Cambridge, UK) is the author of the award-winning bestseller Frederick the Great (2014) and other insightful books that discuss German history. Prof. David Large Clay (Berkeley University, USA) gave us Berlin (2001) - bustling with unusual facts documenting its quick rise from a tiny town to the world city of now. We are happy to have with us the inspiring voice of Martin Düspohl, long-time curator of the legendary FHXB Museum, internationally recognized cultural institution from Kreuzberg.
Velonotte Berlin is designed by urban historian Sergey Nikitin (Verona university, Italy), founder of Velonotte Academy.
