The workbook only option is for candidates whom have current experience in either venepuncture & or cannulation and can provide evidence of prior learning and skills, deemed acceptable by their manager and or the clinical skills team.

Prior to performing venepuncture and or cannulation within the Trust the ‘Venepuncture and Cannulation Structured Learning Programme’ workbook must be completed and a photocopy of the relevant skills assessment and completion checklist sent to and verified by the clinical skills team. This is essential to maintain up-to-date records of skills competencies.
