Venice in Mixed Media with Christine Oliphant. Canvas provided
Sat 29 April 2017, 10:00 – 15:00 BST
It's my great pleasure to offer you this wonderful workshop with FANTSTIC GUEST ARTIST
Christine will expertly guide you in creating a Venetian landscape with a focus on beautiful architectural features in a simplistic and textured style. With minimal drawing accuracy required, this workshop is all about layers of colour, block shapes, collaged paper and freedom of brushstrokes.
This makes it an ideal experience for anyone new to art or anyone wanting to develop a more free and spontaneous style.
Venice is an artists dream, inspiration around every corner and not surprisingly has captured the focus of so many artists all aspiring to portray its beauty and essence. Every artist setting the scene in their own unique way and that's exactly what we will be doing on the day.
Unfortunately the workshop doesn't include a trip to Venice itself so we will have to imagine ourselves there through the exploration of the fantastic mixed media techniques and collage guided by Christine.
The day will include step by step demonstrations of painting techniques and plenty of one to one tuition to support you as you work.
Each student will receive a pre stretched and primed canvas to complete the artwork.
Lots of other painting and drawing materials will be provided for you to use including inktense drawing sticks, gesso and oil pastels

- At least 3 sheets of A4 (or bigger) Watercolour paper which is around 140lbs (3oogsm/gm) weight.
