In October 2016 GDS started working on two collaborative local authority pilots to transform residential parking permit and older people’s concessionary travel services using Verify.

After over 200 user research interviews and many iterations of a common way to deliver both services, we're about to launch the local sector's first pattern-compliant services in private beta.

At this event, GDS will update councils and their invited suppliers on all things #VerifyLocal, in addition to other GDS products that could support local service transformation.

This is the first of two Beta showcase events (the other will take place in Leeds). After feedback from our discovery showcase, we're extending it to be a full day. Registration and networking will begin at 9.30am, with the event starting at 10am.

The event will:

provide a brief history of #VerifyLocal and the approach taken in offering Verify to local authorities across the country.
showcase the new local services using Verify in private beta for the first time.
share the products we've delivered during the beta phase of #VerifyLocal work - from prototypes to user research, and technical patterns to business case findings.
discuss your transformation priorities through 'unconference' sessions.
share case studies from our partner councils to learn from their experience of using Verify.
showcase other GDS services that could be of use to Local Authorities - like Registers, Notify and Digital Marketplace.

The event will be a great opportunity to hear from council pilot participants themselves about their experience so far, hear about other work GDS is doing, and have a chat with like-minded people about service transformation and identity assurance in local government.
