Vernal Equinox Star Stories
Event Information
About this Event
Mark the end of winter and the emergence of spring with more stargazing and storytelling up at Abriachan Forest (A Dark Sky Discovery Site). On this vernal equinox special we welcome our second guest storyteller of the programme, Lesley Anne Brown (aka Tonks).
Tonks has been a performer and story teller for over 18yrs, travelling the globe with stories of Scottish beasties, Norse Gods and spooky ghosties to keep you up at night! One minute she will be taming fire, the next singing you a lullaby, but don't drop your gaze, the trickster is never far behind her!
Trained in stage management and theatre production, Tonks then went on to become a professional tribal belly and fire dancer before focusing her career on tour guiding and story telling. She has spent many years working in the underground crypts and graveyards of Edinburgh's old town, but now works as a driver guide all over Scotland and North England, sharing her passion for story telling and magik with those who will listen!
In addition to our guest storyteller we'll have naked eye and night sky guiding from astronomer Stephen Mackintosh. Or if skies are inclement, Stephen will present an indoor talk on the equinox and the astronomy of ancient monuments.
