Welcome to Very Nice Ice Skating at Fort Regent

We are really excited to announce the opening of the new Ice Rink operated by Very Nice Ice.

The Ice Skating starts at 6pm on Friday 6th December and runs until 9pm Sunday 5th January. Opening hours are as follows:

Opening Day – Friday 6th December – 18:00 – 20:30

Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 20:30

Saturday & Sunday from 10:00 to 21:00

Christmas Eve 10:00-16:00

Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day

New Years Eve – 10: 00 to 18:00

Closed on News Years Day

Our rink offers a fun filled experience for the whole family whatever the weather. All ages from 4 years are welcome to skate whatever your level of ability and our family of penguins will be available for hire for younger skaters.

The Café at Fort Regent offers hot drinks and snacks to skaters and non-skaters.

PLEASE BOOK YOUR TICKETS CAREFULLY. BEFORE COMMITTING TO BUY CHECK YOU HAVE SELECTED THE CORRECT DATE AND TIME. TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IF I HAVE PURCHASED A TICKET ONLINE AM I REQUIRED TO ANNOUNCE MY ARRIVAL AT THE TICKET OFFICE?

No, if you have a pre-booked ticket go straight to the ice rink.

DO I HAVE TO BOOK, OR CAN I TURN UP ON THE DAY?

You can turn up and you will probably get to skate, however if you want to be guaranteed a specific time, especially on busy days, then we would recommend that you book online in advance.

WHAT IS THE YOUNGEST AGE FOR A CHILD TO SKATE?

Due to Health and Safety restrictions, children under the age of 4 will not be permitted to skate at the ice rink. You may be asked to provide proof of age. Children aged 8 years and are only allowed to partake in skating if they are accompanied on the ice by a responsible adult aged 18 or above.

IF I HAVE BOOKED TICKETS AND CAN’T MAKE IT, WHAT HAPPENS?

Tickets for the ice rink are like cinema tickets, no exchange or refunds. If you cannot attend, we suggest that you try to give your tickets to someone else.

IS IT SUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN?

The rink is suitable for children from 4 years and upwards, but we would suggest that young children should attend on the least busy sessions. We have a selection of twin blade bobby skates for tiny feet, but we also suggest that you bring your own cycling helmet, gloves, and other equipment if possible.

DO YOU PROVIDE SKATES AND WHAT IS YOUR LARGEST SIZE?

Skates are provided and included in the price. Our largest size is 15.

CAN I BRING MY OWN SKATES?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own skates.

IS THERE FOOD AVAILABLE AT THE VENUE?

Yes, there is a café located in the Piazza area of Fort Regent.

IS THERE AN ADMISSION FEE IF I’M NOT SKATING?

There is no charge for entry to the viewing area for non-skaters.

DO YOU PROVIDE SAFETY EQUIPMENT?

We do not provide this equipment, however, we recommend helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads while skating and you are free to bring your own.

WHAT TYPE OF CLOTHING SHOULD I WEAR?

You are advised to wear warm light clothing if possible. It is quite normal for there to be some surface water on the ice, so bring a change of socks just in case and be sure to wear gloves while skating. Bags, baseball caps and neck scarves are not permitted whilst on the ice for health and safety reasons.

IS THERE ANYWHERE TO STORE MY BELONGINGS?

There is a storage area for your shoes and a small bag. We do not provide storage for shopping bags, any type of luggage or equipment. All personal belongings are left at the owners risk. CCTV is in operation and bag checks are in place for your safety.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY SESSION?

We recommend you arrive approximately 15 minutes before your session is due to start.

ARE YOU INSURED IF I FALL AND INJURE MYSELF?

The ice rink is a fully insured event, because this is an ice rink, there is a strong likelihood that you may fall. You skate at your own risk, we cannot be responsible for injuries sustained as a result of ice skating. If you are a novice skater, we recommend that you bring gloves, a cycling helmet, knee pads and elbow pads.
