About this event
This year’s vHive Annual Seminar will focus on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the context of improving veterinary care.
The event will bring together leading professionals from veterinary medicine, human health, research, policy, and industry to tackle the global challenges posed by AMR. Together, we will explore how current practices, emerging research, and cross-sector policies can contribute to a collaborative framework aimed at safeguarding animal health and well-being—without compromising human health or the long-term efficacy of antimicrobials.
We are honoured to welcome two keynote speakers whose leadership is shaping national and international AMR strategy:
- Danny Chambers – Member of Parliament & Member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on AMR
A passionate advocate for science-led policy, Danny champions AMR awareness and legislative action at the highest levels of government.
- Fraser Broadfoot – Head of Antibiotic Use and Stewardship, Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD)
Fraser brings deep expertise in veterinary antimicrobial policy and stewardship, driving forward the UK’s efforts to ensure responsible use of antibiotics in animal health.
We’re also thrilled to be joined by a distinguished panel of experts whose work spans continents and disciplines:
• Prof. Jane Heller – Charles Sturt University, Australia Co-Founder, AMR Collective
A global thought leader in One Health and AMR collaboration.
• Mandy Nevel – Head of Animal Health and Welfare, AHDB
Driving innovation and best practice across UK livestock sectors.
• Rebeca Garcia Pinillos – Veterinary Adviser and UK WOAH Animal Welfare Focal Point, Animal Welfare Team Defra / APHA
Bridging science, policy, and welfare in national and international forums.
• Tony Simon – Director, European Scientific Affairs & Pharmacovigilance, Zoetis
Bringing an industry perspective on veterinary pharmacovigilance and AMR stewardship.
