About this event

VE/VJ Day 80: a fundraising concert for the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation

Date and time: Friday 2nd May 2025, 6.30pm

Location: Coventry Cathedral

Join us on Friday 2nd May 2025 at 6.30pm at the iconic Coventry Cathedral to commemorate 80 years since Victory in Europe Day and the end of World War II in Europe. Hosted by Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden, this special fundraising concert for the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) will feature sensational live performances from special guests including the Brass Band of Central England, renowned Cellist Guy Johnston, and the UK's premier wartime act, the D-Day Darlings.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s Torch For Peace will be present as a central symbol of remembrance throughout the event.

The CWGF supports a range of innovative projects that educate people, especially the younger generation, about the work of the CWGC and the men and women who gave their lives in the two World Wars. The money raised at this event will directly fund these efforts to keep their stories alive.

Don’t miss out on this special fundraising event. We hope to see you on 2nd May!
