The £400m Victoria Square complex opened in 2008 and now provides nearly 800,000 ft2 of shopping and leisure space across five floors. Designed by BDP to integrate into existing streets and draw people through, it has also drawn people upwards, to the now iconic glass dome that mimics the dome of the nearby City Hall. Seemingly floating within the dome is a viewing platform that, on opening in 2008, opened up brand new perspectives of the city for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Join the development’s architects for a walk through the centre to hear about how it was designed for function as well as form.
