The scene will be set by garden and social historian Advolly Richmond who you may have seen on BBC 2’s Gardener’s World. Henrietta Lockhart as Collections Officer/Curator for Winterbourne House will illustrate the development of the Nettlefolds’ substantial garden. Chris Begg, Trustee of Hill Close Gardens, Warwick will describe both their development and recent restoration. Dr Katy Layton-Jones has recently given evidence to a Parliamentary Select Committee on the current challenges facing Victorian Parks. Phillida Ballard was commissioned to research and write a history of Chamberlain’s Highbury Hall landscape to assist with a restoration grant application. A sixth speaker is still to be confirmed.
The cost of £40 (£25 full time students or qualifying benefits - bring evidence for qualifying benefits/student status) will include tea/coffee at registration, mid-morning and as part of a buffet lunch including vegetarian options. Please notify us of any specific food requirements.
