Description

Are you making the most out of video for your organisation’s website or social media channels? Do you know how to use your smartphone or video camera to create great video content?

People love video and it’s one of the most effective ways to educate, persuade and sell, but it’s still very underutilised by volunteering organisations.

Just for you idea, here are 4 recent stats about video consumption:

  1. By 2019, global consumer Internet video traffic will account for 80% of all consumer Internet traffic (Source: SmallBizTrends)
  2. Facebook generates 8 billion video views on average per day (Source: Social Media Today)
  3. YouTube reports mobile video consumption rises 100% every year (Source: Hubspot)
  4. 55% of people watch videos online every day (Source: Digital Information World)

So what are you waiting for? Is it fear or the lack of knowledge holding you back?!

Don’t be afraid, video is much simpler than it sounds and we’ll show you how to make great videos for your organisation using basic equipment and simple editing tools.

What you will learn:

  • What types of videos you should be creating for your social media and website
  • How to tell stories with your videos
  • Basic smartphone and camera skills and techniques
  • Where to film - a bit about composition and lighting
  • Sounds and captions
  • What apps to use to shoot and edit your videos
  • What low-cost equipment you might need to improve production value of your videos
  • A little bit about live video

This workshop will be fairly practical, so please bring any equipment that you might have - your smartphone should be a great place to start!

Make sure that you’re leveraging all the opportunities that social media and digital offer these days! Text and images have been superseded by video, so learn how to make the most out of it!
