Video strategy for business - Where to begin?

Whether you’re a small start-up company or global brand, video marketing has become the number one tool in a company marketing strategy thanks to its easy integration with social media. The advent of smart phones and the digital age has also seen the price of recording technology plummet and has opened a world of possibilities for every type of business.

But just because you can get hold of a camera and push the record button, it doesn’t mean you will create content that people will want to watch. You must understand the basics before you can begin to tap into the powerful world of video and use it to take your business to the next level.

Don’t believe video is worth the effort? Many have predicted that around 75% of all internet traffic in 2017 will be video. Search algorithms favour rich media content that includes videos, particularly google who now prominently feature video among its top search results. The most shared content on social media is often video clips and when consumers are considering making a purchase online, research has suggested that over 90% of consumers find videos helpful when considering their options.

Video drives traffic and engagement by conveying information better than any other type of marketing content. If a picture says a thousand words, just think how many words a one minute video can say.

We shall start with the very basics behind producing video content and guide you through what you need to know to start recording your own videos. You’ll hopefully gain an understanding of what is involved in different levels of productions and aim to give you the confidence to start creating your own video content.

Trainer details

Mark Mountford is your facilitator for the workshop.

Mark has been working in video production for over 7 years. He’s produced and shot thousands of hours of corporate video content for some of the UK’s biggest companies. These include the likes of Universal Music, RBS, Coloplast, and Kier. More recently he’s also worked on several successful short films that have gone on to receive international recognition and festival screenings. Last year he was responsible for the filming of ‘Dishonoured’, a local feature film that was shot entirely in the south Lincolnshire area.

As a result, this year he set up ‘Peterborough Films’, a small production company that uses local talent in their video projects and provides cost effective video services. Mark will share his knowledge and unmask some of the mysteries behind producing effective video content.
