Vigil for Giulio Regeni
Event Information
Description
Join Amnesty UK's Cambridge City and Cambridge University group, UCU and other supporters for a vigil in memory of Giulio Regeni, the Italian PhD student who disappeared three years ago on the 25th January 2016. His mutilated body was found on February 3, 2016, in Cairo, Egypt, bearing signs of torture. So far justice has not been done and the Egyptian authorities have obstructed a proper investigation into his murder. If possible, please bring tealights and jars and signs saying "Truth for Giulio Regeni". In addition to several speakers including Labour MP for Cambridge Daniel Zeichner and a minute silence will be held at 6:41pm, when the last communication was received from Guilio.
