Event description

Description

Join us to hear the untold story of Jack the Ripper’s victims. In this hidden history tour we celebrate the strength of women forced to sell sex for survival, not a serial killer.

Visiting the streets where the women lived, we will explore what we know about their lives and commemorate their deaths. Alongside the historic, you’ll hear the stories of women still affected by sexual exploitation in the area today and how you can take action on these issues.

On 30th November, in addition to the walking tours that we are running throughout November, we are hosting a Vigil at St Botolph without Aldgate- twenty minutes of quiet and reflection to commorate the lives of Jack the Rippers victims, as well of the lives of hundreds of women who have been lost as a consequence of violence against women. To join us for this, those booking onto the 8.30pm tour should arrive at St Botolph without Aldgate at 8pm. The 6.30pm tour will finish back at St Botolph without Aldgate by 8pm to join the vigil.

  • Tours depart from St Botolph without Aldgate at 6.30pm & 8.30pm.

  • Tour tickets cost £5, advanced booking essential.

  • Tour ticket includes refreshments provided by Luminary Bakery and free admission to the East End Women: The Real Story Exhibition on display at St Botolph without Aldgate.
