VIII International Symposium SRUK/CERU: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" (A.C. Clarke)

About this Event

Our VIII International Symposium SRUK/CERU "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" (A.C. Clarke), will take place online from the 19th to the 20th of June 2021. Save the date!

The underlying theme for this symposium will be the relationship between science and magic. With the theme “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic“, we aim to reflect how science has evolved in a way that was very difficult to imagine in a not so distant past. The program will include well-known international and Spanish researchers and will cover a variety of topics where research plays a key role. Participants from all disciplines and nationalities are welcome.  Find out about the full program at www.sruk2021.com.

This edition will be the first time the SRUK/CERU Symposium goes virtual, and the organising committee is aware of how tired everyone is feeling about staring at our screens during virtual meetings. For this reason, we are committed to making this event as engaging as possible. All the sessions will be highly interactive with debates, roundtables, and workshops – and well-deserved breaks! In addition, we will have social and networking virtual activities.

As in previous symposia, there will also be a space for SRUK/CERU members to present their research (abstract submission closing on the 1st of May). We will also hold a science festival, the Science Zone. If you are interested in public engagement, submit your proposal. You could get one of the awards! If you do not have the experience, there is no problem. We will help you to develop the activity.

During the Symposium, the Annual General Meeting of SRUK/CERU will also take place for members only.

Stay tuned for more information on our upcoming schedule. You can follow us on Twitter through @ComunidadCeru and the tag #SRUK2021 to catch up with the symposium news. We will also have some exclusive content on our Instagram account @srukceru.

Should you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact us at symposium@sruk.org.uk.

See you at the Symposium!!!
