The fact is 2017 is the best time there has ever been to start your own business. You can do it faster than ever, for as cheap as ever with more support around to help you than ever before.
This event will focus on how you can take advantage of this opportunity. We'll be looking at everything from how to fund your business idea, how to validate your business idea, how to attract your first customers and finally what steps you need to complete to hit that launch button.
Kosta Mavroulakis - Kosta is a social tech entrepreneur and national enterprise champion who simply loves helping people and has nearly 10 years’ experience promoting and facilitating entrepreneurship campaigns, events, initiatives, communities and digital platforms that support startups. He was one of the founding members and later the Digital Development Director (Executive Director) of the National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs (NACUE), a non-profit that works in over 100 UK universities and 200 further education colleges that secured £3.5m from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills. His other current/previous commitments include heading up digital at national non-profits (e.g. NACUE), leading the engagement/partnerships on national campaigns, mentoring on accelerator programmes (e.g. Mass Challenge UK, Dotforge, Spark Up), judging national business competitions (e.g. Shell LiveWire Entrepreneur of the Year Awards & UKTI’s Sirius Programme), advising non-profits (e.g. Cypriot Enterprise Link, Reload Greece) and funded startups (Accredible.com, CoffeeMunch.com and GZero – Makers of TV Catchup App), Speaker (British South India Business Council Business Meet 2015 at Houses of Parliament, Cypriot Enterprise Link’s Insights Conference, NACUE National Leaders Training Conference) in the UK, Greece, Cyprus, and Canada. He is also founder of Empact Ventures which helps entrepreneurial organisations, startups and non-profits to create social and/or economic impact through collaborative initiatives and partnerships.
Ollie Forsyth - Working from home in Northamptonshire, Ollie has always looked up to self-made billionaire Richard Branson for direction and motivation. This same motivation to succeed pushed Ollie to delve into new ventures, and he now owns other second businesses including The Budding Entrepreneur Club and The Budding Entrepreneur Magazine. Having been subject to many hardships and challenges on his journey to success, Ollie has developed a passion to share such experiences in the context of his wider entrepreneurial story.

iii. Speakers and attendees are subject to change and we do not guarantee that any specific speakers or participants will appear at the event. However, we will always try to find a suitable replacement if one of our key speakers or participants is unable to attend.
iv. You attend the event at your own risk. You are responsible for safeguarding your property when attending the event. Virgin StartUp will have no liability for property lost, stolen or damaged at the event.
v. You must be aged 18 or over to attend the event and may be asked to show photographic identification to prove your age.
vi. Tickets can be transferred, exchanged, or refunded once purchased as long as the claim is made 7 days before the event is due to take place.
