How to make social media work for your StartUp

Social media is no longer just an optional channel for startups and small businesses. It’s an essential way of connecting with your audience and getting your brand out there in front of people – plus it’s much cheaper than other, more traditional, marketing channels.

However, with hundreds of thousands of brands clamouring for attention, how can you ensure that your social media efforts add value? With a social strategy, that’s how. Come and meet those who are putting social media at the forefront of their business and find out how and why you should do the same.

Dave Rotheroe , Founder of Cheese Posties

Dave Rotheroe is a serial subscription ecommerce founder and social marketing consultant. Founder of, amongst others, the cheese toasties by post letterbox delivery service ‘Cheese Posties’, Dave specialises in using social media to build loyal, targeted fan bases and inform product direction based on crowd opinion. After running Cheese Posties entirely on organic traffic and viral PR for a year, Dave shifted focus to paid Facebook advertising in mid 2017 taking the company from a fledgling startup to almost half a million pound run rate in less than a year.

Corrie Jones is a freelance social media consultant and trainer based in London. With years' of experience helping businesses both big and small to manage, develop and grow their social media presence, Corrie has been involved in some exciting projects with brands such as NatWest, the Institute of Imagination and One Third Stories (funded by Virgin Start Up). Corrie also hosts the weekly podcast, Self Made Women, where she interviews inspiring women about how they got to where they are today and the advice they would offer to others about running a business.
