VIRSA FEST 2022
Date and time
Celebrating the rich and diverse cultural heritage of ethnically diverse communities in Northumberland!
About this event
We invite you to celebrate the diverse cultures and values that our service users and community brings with them. The event is marked with the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and a way to come together to find more about commonwealth countries.
Displaying the heritage and culture of ethnically diverse communities in Northumberland, VIRSA FEST is guaranteed to be a one-of-a-kind festival for people of all ages to enjoy and participate in. We invite you to come and spend a day with us filled with joy, laughter, and watch our inspirational women graduating from #TechMums - a program designed to support mothers in becoming more confident and excited about the use of Technology in their personal, professional and parenting lives. It is a way for all of us to culturally connect with diverse people in Northumberland making this region beautiful and inclusive for all!
The festivities will be intertwined with the heritage of people and how it has impacted them greatly through our Thriving Communities Pilot Project - LOK VIRSA (The Heritage of People)! There will be:
- Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations
- Traditional Stalls with items ranging from soaps, candles, art, artefacts, décor, clothing and many more
- Traditional dance, choir and singing performances
- Women in Digital & Tech graduating from #TechMums
- Storytelling and Open-Mic
- Fun and interactive activities
We are looking to transform "Being Woman" into a valley of vibrant colours. Being Woman has always been leading from the front when it comes to promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion and this time we need your support to help us foster cultural diversity and inclusion! Through this we not only aim to showcase the mind-blowing talent that our community has, but also reaching out far and wide to everyone so that they can come and enjoy the day with us!
