About this event

Programme overview

The field of cancer genomics and recent technological advances are shaping how we diagnose and treat cancer. This virtual course will teach the core concepts of risk stratification using family history as a tool to enable patients to access appropriate management strategies. The course is designed for all healthcare professionals working in primary care and specialist settings including oncology, breast care, gynae-oncology, gastroenterology and screening services. Participants will be equipped with the basics of cancer genetic counselling and sessions will include approaches to genetic testing, management of hereditary cancers and consent taking. We encourage all delegates to access our online platform Nucleus: https://nucleus.medics.academy/#/ prior to September to enable them to have some grounding in cancer genetics and make the most of this virtual taught course. Nucleus also has an interactive community through SLACK and you can interact with our course directors at any time through this. The fee for Nucleus is separate to the virtual cancer genetics course.

The option of undertaking a work based learning module through KCL will also be discussed with delegates. This is entirely optional.
