Come to our free Virtual Concurrent Care Information Evening on Tuesday, 4 November from 6pm to 7.30pm. We are proud to be holding this event as part of Adoption Week Scotland 2025. The event will take place virtually over Teams.
This event is for anyone curious about concurrent care. Whether you're just beginning to explore the idea of concurrency or already considering applying, this event is for you.
What is concurrent care?
Concurrent care describes a particular type of foster care/adoption which thoroughly explores the possibility of a baby or very young child being returned to his or her birth parents before adoption.
How to register for our Virtual Concurrent Care Information Evening
You can sign up on Eventbrite here.
You will then be sent the Teams joining details.
Why attend?
We'll tell you:
- What concurrent care is.
- Why concurrent care is needed.
- Who can become a concurrent carer.
- How we can support you as a concurrent carer.
You can:
- Ask questions during the session or contact us privately afterwards and we will answer your questions by email or over the phone.
You'll also hear from one of our concurrent carers, who will share their personal experience of concurrency.
Who can adopt through St Andrew's Children's Society?
We help people to adopt who live within a 60 mile radius of Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Elgin.
Everyone is welcome — including LGBTQ+ individuals, single people, people of faith, those of no faith, and individuals from Black, Asian, and other diverse ethnicities.
To become a concurrent carer, you must live within one hour’s drive of the designated contact centre.
What is Adoption Week Scotland?
Adoption Week Scotland is held every November to raise awareness about adoption across Scotland and to encourage more people to think about adopting. We take part in this important campaign every year.
