Chevening Sustainability Network (CAA+) virtual drinks session connects experts in sustainability from the global alumni network monthly.

About this Event

Chevening Sustainability Network invites to the series of video meetings which will be held on the first Thursday of every month. It is a great opportunity to share expertise and learn more about Chevening alumni involved into sustainable development.

Virtual Drinks and Networking

CAA+ is pleased to host this networking event for Chevening Scholars who form part of the sustainability group, although all those with an interest in sustainability, please do attend. Come along to get to know colleagues in the field, abroad and in your home country. Bring along a drink (hot or otherwise, depending on your timezone) and feel free to invite colleagues.

Speaker: Claudia LaRue, First Secretary to the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations

Claudia works as a diplomat for the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic to the UN where she focuses on environmental, economic and social issues. She is a member of the UN Expert Working Group on Partnerships and has negotiated resolutions to improve transparency and accountability in strategic UN partnerships. Currently, she is an AdjunctProfessor in the Department of Political Science and Law at Montclair State University, where she has also spearheaded sustainability initiatives to promote the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the achievement of the SDGs. Claudia’s work spans the public, private and non-profit sectors. In Norway, she worked in the telecom industry and managed IT contracts for corporate customers. In the Dominican Republic, she managed a social investment fund in partnership with the Inter-American Foundation. She is a founding member of the Dominican non-profit Granito de Arena and is Member of the Board of the Stakeholder Forum for a Sustainable Future and is part of the Advisory Group for Family Alliance.

She will be talking about the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Past, Present and Future.
