About this event

  • Do you love the analogue photography community but can't always make it to photowalks and meet ups?

  • Want some gentle motivation to get out shooting film?

  • Desperate to clear that backlog of undeveloped rolls?

Join the Virtual Film Development Party with other analogue photographers around the world and give yourself a chance to connect, catch up and come away with a feeling of immense productivity (looking at your freshly developed roll(s) of film hanging up to dry!)

The Virtual Film Development Party (VFDP) is hosted monthly by me, Rachel of Little Vintage Photography and lasts around 1-1.5hrs.

Party goers are sent a private online link via Google Meet to join a video call with other analogue photographers around the world.

We then all get to process our films together on the call, (just bring your daylight tank, film and chosen chemistry along) talk about what we've been up to, ask for advice and by the time the party is finished, you should leave with a freshly developed roll (or two!) of film!

Most attendees usually load their film into their daylight developing tank prior to the call, which means that we'll usually all start and finish development (approximately) together.

The Virtual Film Development Parties are all recorded, so you can also watch on catch-up afterwards and although of course, it's better to join live, if that's not possible, you have the option to block out a time to play the recording at a time convenient to you and share your images afterwards!

*Please note, the VFDP's are a relaxed virtual club NOT a formal workshop. As there isn't capacity for supported learning, they are designed for photographers who already know how to load a daylight tank and process their film by hand (and have access to their own kit & chemistry to do so).

If you would like to join a future VFDP but need to learn how to process a roll of film first, I do also have the option for you to book a guided workshop with me at my darkroom & studio which will teach you the process.
