About this event
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, regardless of your job, how frequently you work with children, or how often you interact with vulnerable people.
We all have a responsibility to keep children and vulnerable adults safe.
This introductory course is designed for volunteers who work both directly and indirectly for organisations or groups delivering services to children, young people or their families in Camden.
It describes the common types of abuse, how to recognise them, and what to do if you see or hear something that isn’t right.
The session will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to safeguard children and vulnerable adults you come into contact with and is open and to those who have had little or no safeguarding training before.
Who Should Take This Course?
Suitable for anyone requiring the equivalent of a Level 2 safeguarding introduction; including volunteers, play and support workers, coaches, mentors, and new starters who have never had child protection training or safeguarding essentials training before. Learners who complete the full virtual training session will receive an attendance certificate valid for two years.
The workshop will cover the following aspects of safeguarding:
- What is Safeguarding and the different types of abuse.
- Awareness of current issues.
- Myth busting and social care
- Safeguarding in practice.
- Safeguarding and Early Help; reporting and support.
