About this event

As many of you will be aware this network provides support to managers across Dorset and regular attendees say that they are an extremely useful way of keeping up to date and discussing key issues with others in a similar role to yourself. We will once again be offering the chance for you to join the Registered Managers Network (virtually) to gain support and information. Based on feedback from local managers we continue to alternate the format of the meetings, with some of those in the early Autumn taking place face to face .
We are delighted to be joined by a couple of colleagues from the Dorset Work Matters service who are keen to explore whether there are opportunities for employment in your services for the people they are supporting , and what would need to be in place to make this successful for everyone. This could be a great way of building your workforce.
We will also hear about the Steps2Wellbeing service from James Goodman and Anna Griffiths, who are the Older Adults Champions working locally for Dorset Health Care. This service has not traditionally been accessed by high numbers of older adults although it can provide good support and outcomes for them, so it could be worth considering for the people your service supports ( if appropriate).
Hannah Bird, a Cyber Crime Protect & Prevention Officer from Dorset Police will be sharing information on the cyber crime initiatives they are currently leading and how these relate to your services, teams and the people you support. After recent high profile events we are all aware how crucial good cyber security practice is in the current climate.
Once again, we will be joined by Anna Knight from Dorset Care Association, who will provide us with an update on the work they are leading to support ethical international recruitment ( and the significant changes which have been recently announced) , their trusted assessor service and their work in the coming months including their conference scheduled to take place in the Autumn. For more information on their work please see Home - Dorset Care Association
During the latter part of the meeting we will be discussing key topics, plus advice and guidance to support you. There will be time for confidential and open discussion amongst yourselves.
Don't worry if you are not confident using MS Teams, we are all learning and there will be time for ironing out some of the technical issues at the start of the meeting.
Once you have booked your space via Eventbrite, a confirmation email will be sent to you with access to the meeting.
