Event description

Description

Have you been diagnosed with MS in the last five years?

Would you like to virtually connect with other people who've recently been diagnosed with MS?

We're delivering virtual Living Well with MS to people across Scotland, particularly if you live in a remote and rural area.

The sessions are a chance to chat, reflect on and share experiences. We'll also look at different ways to support you to live well with MS.

The sessions will take place on 21st, 28th of February & 7th, 14th of March from 11.30am to 1pm.

What does the virtual session include?

The virtual session is made up of 4 modules which take place over 4 weeks. Each week you will be sent some reflective materials to read, consider and work through before taking part in a 1.5 hour virtual meeting. These virtual meetings will bring you together with a small group of people who have been newly diagnosed with MS to have a chat around specific topics. We ask that you attend all 4 modules, where possible. This will give you the opportunity to meet other people who may share similar experiences to you from across rural and remote areas of Scotland.

These sessions aim to help you to:-

  • Share your experience of MS with others

  • Feel more confident to set up and successfully achieve your daily goals

  • Understand what "self-management" is

  • Learn new skills to help support you live well with MS

Following the sessions you’ll have the opportunity to stay in touch with others online.

We’re delighted to have received funding from the RS MacDonald Charitable trust to support this work.

How do I book a place on the virtual session?

Register your place by completing the registration form here on Eventbrite. You will receive an email confirming you have noted your interest. Once places have been allocated, you will recieve an email advising whether you have been successful. By registering you are not guaranteed a place. Please note that people living in rural and remote areas of Scotland will be given priority for this specific project.

What will I need to take part?

All you need to join in is a laptop/tablet/phone/computer with access to a microphone and camera - this will allow you to be seen and heard during the online sessions. You will need a stable internet connection to use the video meeting software that we use.

What should I do if I can no longer attend?

If you find that you are unable to make it for the live chat please get in touch by using the details below to let us know.
