Overview: Building Connections and Sharing Practice. Children’s Universities in Virtual Schools

Virtual Schools play a vital role in supporting Children Looked After, ensuring they have the opportunities, support, and encouragement needed to thrive. Children’s University provides an exciting way to extend learning beyond the classroom, celebrate achievement, and build confidence through enrichment and extracurricular opportunities.

As more Virtual Schools explore and develop Children’s University programmes, this initial meeting offers a space to come together, connect, and share experiences.

During the session we will:

  • Provide an opportunity for Virtual Schools to meet, network, and learn from each other.
  • Share examples of programme delivery and practice that support Children Looked After through CU activities.
  • Explore the unique opportunities and challenges of adapting CU for the needs of young people in care.
  • Begin to identify areas for future collaboration, support, and shared resources.

This is the start of a conversation about how Virtual Schools can strengthen and sustain the impact of Children’s Universities for Children Looked After.

All Virtual Schools who are running or developing a Children’s University programme are warmly invited to join and contribute to this initial meeting.
