About this event

The School of Digital Arts (SODA) is hosting Virtual Workshops for subjects housed within the school at Manchester Metropolitan University.

The sessions will be separate to each other and students are welcome to book onto either one or both. Our interactive sessions are your chance to hear about SODA and sign up for the subjects you want to know more about. You’ll get to meet our lecturers, to ask them questions about their courses and the kind of things you’ll get to do when you’re on them.


Web User Experience & Design Monday 23rd May 12-13:30

The focus of this course is to introduce the learner to Web & UX (User Experience) Design. UX design is design that is user centred. The goal of this short workshop is to introduce methods of working for the web, that allow users to meet their needs in the most efficient and effective manner.

Music and Sound Design Tuesday 31st May 13-14:30

The importance of sound - In this session, we’ll see how sound design and music, affect how we perceive a piece of visual content, such as a film, TV show or computer game. a website is to use.

By the end of the session, you’ll be able to identify and experience some ways that sound and music are created and used in the media to change the experience of the viewer.

We’ll see what sound design and music professionals are employed to do and how this course could lead to the many different jobs in the digital industries.
