Event Information
About this Event
Spire Little Aston Hospital are pleased to invite you to our virtual classroom. The session will cover consultant talk on: Specialist Speech and Language Therapy.
Lockdown has for many parents highlighted their children’s communication skills and in some cases flagged up issues. Given the reduced social interaction there is a concern that when early years settings and schools reopen many children’s communication targets will have fallen behind.
Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and ICAN(The Children’s Charity) TalkBoost provider Penny-Anne O’Donnell will share guidelines around:
- Normal Language Development including developmental stammering.
- How to stimulate language development in everyday life.
- Early warning signs and when to refer to speech therapy and how it works remotely.
Penny-Anne O'Donnell graduated from UCL in Speech Sciences and has worked across Warwickshire, Worcestershire and the Midlands offering supporting families with communication difficulties and advising schools and nurseries. She also works with Choristors and the RSC on their Musicals Matilda and Boy in a Dress. She is an expert witness for educational placement tribunals and EHCP plans.
Talk tailored for a GP and HCP audience.
