Virtual Talk - Two Noble Pensmen: A Tale of Two Geniuses
Event Information
About this Event
In her biography of Charles Dickens, Claire Tomalin describes him as the second greatest creator of characters in the English language.
Second behind who? William Shakespeare, of course.
Despite their careers being separated by around 250 years the similarities between the two do not end there.
I have been running my own Dickens tours for many years, but in the three years I have also been working as a tour guide at Shakespeare's Globe I have found myself increasingly bringing them both into the conversation to illustrate the same point.
It is remarkable quite how similar they were in so many different ways; join me on this virtual talk to discover what made both men tick.
This is a live virtual talk (please note: not a "tour" as it will not be illustrated by specific locations) hosted via Zoom video conferencing where I will give an illustrated presentation with an accompanying talk. There will be opportunities for questions and interaction both during and after the virtual talk.
