Event Information
Event description
A journey through late Victorian Clerkenwell using the maps and notes of Charles Booth as he created his famous 'Poverty Maps'.
About this event
This live virtual tour features excerpts from the notes Charles Booth made to compile his famous 'poverty maps', as well as examples of the maps themselves. We follow the route he took to establish the living conditions of the inhabitants of one of London's most varied late Victorian neigbourhoods, and we hear from contemporary writers and comentators.
This is a live virtual tour hosted via Zoom video conferencing where your guide will give an illustrated presentation of the tour route with an accompanying talk. There will be opportunities for questions and interaction both during and after the virtual tour.
