Event description
An interactive, virtual tour of the Supreme Court with an experienced guide.

About this event

Situated at the heart of historic Parliament Square, the Supreme Court is the highest court of appeal in the United Kingdom and hears some of the most high-profile cases on issues of national importance.

Originally built in 1913 as the Middlesex Guildhall, the building is itself is Grade II* Listed and has kept much of its original architectural features, after its major renovation in 2007. Eye-catching features include majestic ceilings, intricate carved beams, and an abundance of exquisite stained glass. The virtual tour will also include some of the art works from the Middlesex Art Collection.

Your virtual tour will be led by an experienced member of staff who will give the group an introduction to the Court's role in the UK justice system, explain about the history and artwork of the building, provide interesting examples of cases heard by the Court, and answer any questions you may have. You will be shown all images of all three beautiful courtrooms and the magnificent Justices' Library, which is not normally open to the public.
